Breath. SomaticMovement. Mindfulness.

Supporting you in rebuilding trust in your intuition and body again by addressing the root cause of your trauma symptoms

About The Work

Somatic Trauma Recovery

Your body is your most valuable resource in recovery.

Somatic therapy looks at the connection of mind and body for holistic healing. We are one interconnected system, meaning that our emotions, physical body, and thoughts affect one another.  If your healing doesn’t include your body, it is incomplete.

Trauma, just like stress, causes a physical response - sometimes showing up as sensations, change in our breath or long term illness. We have been conditioned to ignore physical symptoms and emotions, and therefore we have been trying to heal by working solely with the mind and ignoring the body. Together we work on resetting your nervous system and releasing trauma energy from your body. To heal, we have to address the body, emotions and the mind, as a whole - as a singular entity.

Trauma is a unique and personal experience. What one person considers traumatic, another person may not.

Trauma symptoms include, but is not limited to:

  • Emotional overwhelm

  • Physical discomfort: rigidity, unease, tension, pain, tightness, exhaustion, burnout symptoms, difficulty breathing

  • Ruminating or intrusive thoughts, negative/limiting beliefs (you’re not lovable, not worthy, etc), flashbacks, nightmares, PTSD

  • …and so much more

WORKSHOPS & EVENTS

Julie allowed me to feel comfortable and be vulnerable right from our first session together. She was immediately attuned to how I was feeling, and the therapeutic methodologies that would be most beneficial to my growth & healing. I cannot recommend Julie enough! The progress I’ve made with her is night & day.
